Well,as many of you know, the Supreme Court has ruled that the death penalty cannot be used in cases of child rape. They say that this constitutes cruel and unusual punishment and that the death penalty can only be used in cases of murder, which is when someone’s life is taken. I know, we all know that, but follow me here.
When a man, or woman for that matter, rapes a child, that child’s life is essentially taken away. They go from being normal happy children without a care in the world, to children who are afraid to be close to anyone. They go into counseling that may or may not help them. They turn into adults that in many cases cannot have relationships and marriages because they are afraid to get close to another man or woman.
Then we have people like Massachusettes Representative James Fagan making remarks like those found here. Folks these are the kind of comments that have no place in our federal goverment buildings. These are the types of comments that say we need to get these defense attorneys out of positions where they make laws.
If you think that I am wrong thats your opinion. But I hope that it is not your daughter or son next time that is a victim of child rape that is so heinous, you feel it needs the death penalty but that is not an option anymore.

Well, they keep appealing the case and the people of Alaska (and America) keep getting screwed. Exxon has won again in the case of the biggest oil spill that ever occurred. The justice system has ruled that Exxon should only be responsible for $500 million in damages paid to the people and wildlife of Alaska instead of the $2.5 billion that was decided on four years ago in another court case.
Here is my issue with this cut in the damages. People such as fisherman and crabbers that deped on the area, were economically devastated. Seabirds and marine life were lost. And now the amount that Exxon has had to pay has been cut from an original $5 billion to a meager $500 million. Give me a break America. WAKE UP! This is a disgrace in our justice system.
Politically it is a disgrace as well. Our politicians continue to bring these bunch of oil execs to Capital Hill and put them up for questioning where they continue to lie about the fact that they are not ripping the American people a new butthole. They keep talking about how that the RECORD PROFITS they keep posting are contributed to the law of supply and demand. Then our justice system gives them more money because poor little Exxon has already spent $3.4 billion in clean up costs, fees, penalties, etc. Big freakin’ deal. Tell that to the thousands of animals killed and I am sure they feel they were worth more than $500 million.

I have seen the interviews and television documentary shows where the oil company execs get on the screen and say that they are not gouging the American consumers and that it is simply a fact of the law of supply and demand that causes prices to be so high. Really?
Well, thanks to our good friends over at Fox News we know why prices are so high. They have to have some way to pay for the trips to Sweden and the new Volvos they give away. They say it is to keep employees reeled in. See for yourself, here is the story.
